Chris continues:
I am not claiming that all members of these churches were wholeheartedly supporting the event, but a sizeable number from each of the churches were, either as attendees ,or as volunteers and 1500 were needed. It was professionally organised and safely directed. The difference in the car park to a "more normal area" is the high quality of cars. This is one of the most well to do neighbourhoods in England. Now before anyone reacts, think of this.
When has that happened before in little old England? The pentecostal move was mainly among the poor to middleclass. When I was baptised in the Spirit in 1972, trying to communicate to these very valleys was a nightmare. Nobody was interested. They were too rich.
In the tent then, unlike RIVERCamp, which was organised by the Elim stream of churches, was a complete range of Conformist and non-Conformist denominations and independent churches.
And you know what? OK, you got the sense that for some this was all relatively new,
  1. BUT THIS WAS ONE SMALL AREA IN OUR COUNTRY
  2. THIS WAS CROSSING ALL BOUNDARIES INCLUDING CATHOLIC CHURCHES
  3. THERE WAS A PRESENCE OF THE LORD IN THE WORSHIP AND SUBSEQUENT MINISTRY OF JOHN AND CAROL ARNOTT THAT WAS JUST LIKE RIVERCAMP.
  4. LIKE RIVERCAMP THERE WAS A SENSE OF GOD ON THE VERY GROUNDS ITSELF.

God's wisdom in raising up an independent territory for a marquee, in this case spearheaded by the Entertainer businessman Gary Grant, is less threatening for the individual churches. It is clear that no personal or network empires are being built. This is about the Kingdom of God. This is the Body building itself in love, worship and focussing on God.

Just as Germany would not listen to its own prophet in the backyard - Rheinhardt Bonnke, and instead responded to the university credibility of John Wimber....it is interesting that Mark Stibbe is almost universally recognised for his authority in the Word, as well as his spiritually anointed prophetic insight. John and Carol Arnott have a very gentle and powerful authority to which people of all types and shades of British Christian seem to respond.

It seems that my previous post http://080808onnowto.blogspot.com/2008/12/we-can-reposition-ourselves.html has turned out to be possible. Here I mentioned how difficult it was at times in Amersham Old Town Baptist. This is now King's Church pastored by Paul Lynch. When I arrived at the marquee, two sets of people enquired how I was feeling after the night before. I was puzzled since this was my first visit. It turns out Paul Lynch had been zapped on the platform through Carol Arnott and had spent a considerable time flat out. They were mistaking me for Paul when he has his glasses on.

The other interesting Godsident concerned the guy I sat with called David. He is now in Beaconsfield Baptist. He is in his 50s I think. Touched in USA in 1986, he was blown out by British church experience on his return. (I wouldn't say UK church was bad or anything!!!!)But in 2002 he attended an Alpha course, recommitting his life. His Dr Challoners son!!!had got work in China, and had been really zapped while out there. Both he and his son had attended City Church International. This had worked well for his son Michael, but he had not felt so well received himself. Different churches get on with different age groups. It could be that Rob Rufus does best in the 20-35 age group. But anyway, what are the odds of sitting next to someone who has been there!!!

Oh I never said about John and Carol's session. It was along the lines of Monday morning at Rivercamp where Christine received a 50% healing to her elbow, which still continues. Different healings were being received and testified to on Tuesday night. Quite new stuff for our little Chess Valley!!!
