Community: some still don't get it. Certainly as hurt as people might get in denominational settings...... Nothing can ever compare the marriage scale hurts of those who in all innocence threw their lot into community only to experience the raw side of 'marriage' scaled up ten or twenty fold...
Other than the acutest family grief nothing anywhere goes anything near. If you have lived in Holy Ghost transparency then encountered group independent self behaviour coming at you like wolves it's no wonder you think Community is a curse word. But psalm 66:12
You let people ride over our heads;
    we went through fire and water,
    but you brought us to a place of abundance.

 promises the riding over your head treatment. So does Song of Solomon 5:7
The watchmen found me
    as they made their rounds in the city.
They beat me, they bruised me;
    they took away my cloak,
    those watchmen of the walls!

 The thing is you shouldn't even be where you are anyway..... A Community is only as Melchizedek as the people still walk in a collective consciousness of Galatians 2:20 and most churches have their collective eyes firmly on flesh and behave like it. So just get up out of the dust, forgive yourself for being so stupid as to have ignored the Spirit and what He was really showing you to do and find that Bridegroom who is outside skipping upon the mountains.
You can never trust flesh at anytime, but above all first and second level churches are the most dangerous places on earth..
Why...?? Because you assume the bomb has been defused already but it is still there primed waiting to try to destroy you.

Chris Welch Yes...I kind of felt that when Mikkel answered. I don't know if you meant that Mikkel? But this is the challenge...a Kingdom not made with hands...yet not in fairy dust and the never never land...but one that is as up and running as Galatians 2:20 in our own personal lives.

Art tends to prefigure life. Beethoven's late string quartets were about 100 years ahead of their time. Franz Kafka's work really only started to come into full relevance once the functions of the two hemisphere's of the brain had been highlighted...and publicly that was around 1990 with CT scanning.

Art and music in the 20th Century was two things. I've only learnt about the first recently. The first was a "guided" disaster at one level. You see if you have  trillionaires guiding the whole of society in every nation by tipping weights and balances...for example rigging all Booker prizes, all university courses, all Nobel peace prizes, all Oscar film prizes, all elections, all major innovations by choosing which ones they are going to fund...you start to realise how it was we ended up with the art and the music we have had for about 150 years....Nietzsche and Darwin onward. In 1928 unbeknown to us piano tuners, the musical frequency was set by Rockefeller Foundation  at the most jarring frequency that it could have been to interact with our bodies...A440...

and so it goes ON.

Nevertheless, point two remains. People REALLY DID feel the fragmentation of wars. Picasso really did paint Guernica. Musicians really did feel there was very little to do after Wagner's Tristan and Isolde and so Stravinsky REALLY DID lead the charge to break down conventional harmony, and Schoenberg really did follow with the 12 tone system. Art itself and sculpture really did break everything down into component parts, and Tracey Emin really did do an installation of her unmade bed.

To me, everyone was down the shops buying an extended palette to work with. Everything was being re examined under a fine tooth comb. And in the Spirit this is what was going on from Jessie Penn Lewis onwards with Norman Grubb. Jessie was fed up of Pentecostal excesses and Norman continued the hunt to accurately define for all time what it was that St Paul had found. It's not that Norman invented a new spiritual palette, but much like the scientists going down and down into the depths of how the very smallest material things operate, Norman was defining who we are spiritually, how we actually work, and in his field actually coming up with something that tallies with recent quantum discoveries too.

So last century was about fragmentation. The trillionaires meant it for destruction, for exercising ever greater control. God meant it for us to taste in one GIANT ROMANS 7 the utter futility of life lived outside the conscious enjoyment of Himself.

With this much greater PALETTE in all walks of life we can now build in all ways in a much larger, and successful way than before. But all life is inward first, so if we rush back to just building outwardly we only get a bigger more hollow version of the empty dead works we ever had. If instead we build from the God who fills the ALL in ALL, everything that formerly didn't quite work, now begins to work.

But the one area that since early times has barely been tested is TRUE CHURCH LIFE.
Since TRUE CHURCH LIFE is this :
The BODY
joined by that which each part (when working properly) supplies
or" From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."
We are only joined as each part supplies Christ And people only supply Christ if they live out of the consciousness that they are Christ as them as per Galatians 2:20.
